[orphans]

Untitled Poem

I was never alone
the dark shadow from my closet was just a mirage
This is my past, I control my future
I surrender to the fight inside
Do you remember Chinese Eyes
One child's nightmare I brought to life
flying fists toward my pillow, drenched by the morning light
Daytime fantasies, I might be next, I might be right
the voice from above saying everything's fine
so here I stand, with the strength to look behind
now I can see the world is also mine
Someone else was insulted, showered with stereotypes
The feeling of being put on probation for the rest of
their natural born life
I can hear your voices, can you hear mine,
One life to live, start your own line
I was never alone, we never gave up the fight
angels in disguise, walking in the light
